But on March 14, the union extended the action by eight weeks, citing the government’s failure to fully address its demands. The union thereafter extended the strike by another 12 weeks.

However, several meetings have been held between the Federal Government and ASUU but have not yielded positive results.

The Berekete Family’s host, Ahmad Isa during the interview with ASUU chairman said he had set up a special intervention bank account domiciled in TAJ Bank to raise funds for the union, with a view to ending the strike.
